The Seed

My Vision at iMpande

My vision is to help women of all generations heal their wounds and recognise that these wounds often span generations. By healing these deep-seated wounds, I empower an entire generation of women.

Extending Impact Beyond Counselling

Beyond the counselling room, my commitment to healing and empowerment takes a practical form through support for critical social issues. During the COVID pandemic, I co-authored a chapter in the book Intersecting Stories: Narrative therapy reflections on gender, culture and justice , focusing on intersectional conversations about racism and white privilege within the contexts of sexual assault and family violence. The proceeds from my contribution to this book have been used to support efforts to eradicate barriers that hinder the empowerment of young girls.

Supporting Girls in Zimbabwe

One such barrier is period poverty, which disproportionately affects young women in Zimbabwe, my home country. To address this, I contribute to projects that generate funds for purchasing sanitary products and underwear for girls in need. This initiative helps ensure that these young women do not miss out on their education during their menstrual periods, offering them a fighting chance to become the best versions of themselves. By providing this essential support, I aim to close the gap caused by inequities in access to education and create pathways for young women to succeed.

For women in Zimbabwe seeking counselling services at iMpande, it is my intention that instead of traditional payment, the fees are redirected back into the community. This unique approach ensures that by investing in their mental health, women are simultaneously supporting crucial initiatives aimed at empowering young girls, giving them the resources they need to thrive in education and life.
